50 kinds of X
One letter. 50 possibilities.
The questionWhat happens if I take an X and see what I can do with it?
I changed proportion, structure, texture, composition and style to see how far I could push an X before it stopped feeling like an X.
35 of the 50 attempts
Not all of them worked
Some made sense, others went off in another direction and several I just didn’t like. I wasn’t looking for the perfect X, but for room to try things I wouldn’t have attempted in a conventional type project.
A small change could completely transform its character, its weight or the way it was perceived.
The 50 X’s aren’t 50 different solutions. They’re 50 attempts.
